Our Future Planet is a non-profit online project (Registered Charity no. 1124332), aimed to be the first to design a fundamentally new planetary system (Source: Statement from Our Future Planet Website). It is a first independent organisation that encourages its members to take an active part in the design of their future planet, by allowing anyone to start petitions and actions.

Created by Karl Jaeger, founder of the International School of America (Source: Interview with Karl Jaeger on Our Future Planet by the Harvard Graduate School of Education ) in 2007,
The idea for (OFP) was developed in 2006 and the charity was established in 2008. OFP evolved out of a desire to rethink the direction the world is heading in and aims to inspire people to create a better world in which to live. We have drawn a line in the sand. Our present planet is on one side, and our future planet is on the other. Our Future Planet enables you to rethink a future that does not follow on blindly from the ways of the past.
We believe that many of the big world issues such as climate change, the economic crisis, human rights, poverty, energy security and inequality can have solutions if we act together now in a way that is unbiased and collaborative. A sustainable future is about integrating systems that take on the challenges of the whole planet. The ideas globe part of the website is designed to show how these systems and their issues connect and provide you with the knowledge and networks to create solutions that can be integrated into our present planet.
The online community then provides an environment for you to create a positive future vision, connect with others, share knowledge, develop ideas and projects so that they can be put into action. By understanding global issues and connecting with others with shared interests it is possible to facilitate change at a local and international level.
Our vision is to harness global co-operation to create a sustainable, beautiful and happy future. When you sign up to Our Future Planet you can start designing and creating the future from scratch. Connect with others, share knowledge, ideas and resources, create your own personal vision, set actions to achieve it, develop and share proposals plus create projects to implement your ideas and proposals both locally and internationally.
You can be part of this creative community designing and changing the future. The more people sign up, the more ideas are shared; the larger and stronger our community grows, and the closer we come to achieving our vision.
